What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

Manipulation

What does the word “Chiropractic” mean?

The word stems from the combination of Grecian origins. “Cheir” which means hand and “Praktos” means done by hand. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DO!

What are Adjustments and Manipulation?

PAINLESS, Safe, and Non-Invasive treatment of joint pain!

Spinal Manipulation is a technique in which a Chiropractor treats neck pain, back pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions by applying a force to the joint directly. The idea is that when there is an injury affecting the joint or surrounding muscles, there are physical and chemical changes that result in inflammation, pain, and decrease in patients function. Treating the dysfunctional areas of the spine can restore the spine’s structural integrity. Manipulation of the affected joint as well as tissues will lead to a restoration of mobility, which thereby will alleviate the patient’s pain and muscle tightness letting them heal quicker.

Is that my joint popping?

When an adjustment is performed, the audible sound one might hear is simply the gas release from within the joint space. It’s not your bones “cracking” as some might say.

Why isn't every joint in my body cracking?

One myth about adjustments is that you HAVE to hear an audible “crack” sound with every adjustment. That is actually not the case! It doesn’t occur every time.

Do Chiropractors only treat the spine?

Chiropractors such as Dr. Brian Mikhayloff are trained to be neuromusculoskeletal specialists of the ENTIRE body.
