What is Spinal Decompression?

A revolutionary technology offered in our office that is used both manually by the doctor (known as Flexion Distraction Technique) or via a computer-aided technology (Spinal Traction). This technology best helps with symptoms of neck and back pain as a result of a herniated, bulging, degenerated, or slipped discs. We are using the newest technology developed by Hill-Labs integrated into our table.
This technology has been cleared by the FDA for over 10 years and there has been a ton of evidence backing support of this technique for patients with these complaints. There are currently over 5000 offices in both USA and Canada performing Spinal Decompression treatments. When different forms of treatments don’t work, Spinal Decompression has shown to decrease patient pain levels dramatically within 4 to 6 weeks.

Are you a Candidate for Spinal Decompression?

The following conditions have shown improvement in current literature:
Herniated Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, Bulging Discs, Lumbar Radiculopathy, & MORE!

How does it work?

While a patient lays on the table strapped into the table, specific settings catered to the patient are logged into the computer. This allows the Doctor to set a specific force of pull as well as angle of pull from the table. Negative Pressure is created inside the discs of the spinal cord when Spinal Decompression or Flexion Distraction is used which essentially causes a vacuum drawing the disc material back into their original place. With this, pressure it taken off the nerves alleviating the patients’ symptoms.

Evidence shows that not only does the negative pressure essentially suck the disc back in, it also sends nutrients, oxygen, as well as fluids into the disc to create a healing environment in the area of concern. It is important to note that Spinal Decompression has to be done by a specialist as the settings and treatment depend on the patient’s body weight, tolerance, severity of pain, and duration of symptoms.

Does it hurt?

While the treatment process is safe as well as relaxing, some patients reported mild discomfort following the first few treatment sessions with extensively injured discs. Following a few treatments, their discomfort has subsided. Like always, we want the patient to feel comfortable and painless. Patients are provided a safety switch if in case they would like to stop the treatment at any point of time.

How long does a Spinal Decompression treatment typically last?

Typically, Spinal Decompression treatment protocols last anywhere from 30-45 minutes for 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks. Some patients have reported decreased pain levels even after 1 treatment session! Please note, outcomes are patient dependent, and some conditions may require more treatment sessions while others require less.

Patients with the following DO NOT qualify for Spinal Decompression
